A Paediatric Physiotherapist works with a wide range of children. Conditions a physiotherapist can help with include but are not limited to:

  • Neurological conditions and disorders, such as cerebral palsy.
  • Global Motor Development Delay
  • Torticollis
  • Coordination problems, Dyspraxia or Developmental Coordination Disorder
  • Genetic Conditions, such as Down Syndrome
  • Autistic Spectrum
  • Hypotonia / Hypertonia
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Orthopaedic problems
  • After an accident or surgery

Physiotherapists often get involved when children are not meeting their gross motor milestones. We see older children if they are falling behind their peers with age-related activities in school or extra-curricular activities, have poor posture or back / joint pain.

Neonatal Physiotherapy

SPOT also offers support for parents of premature babies and full term babies where there are concerns regarding development. Please email for more information.

Carrie has been amazing with our son and we have been so happy with the progress he has made in such a short time. After determining the improvement areas, she has guided him through many different exercises while making it fun. When he first visited the clinic he was a reluctant talker, but with her charm and her patience, she has really worked magic. He is now much more confident, he is able to express himself, tell stories and has improved his overall communication skills. He has even started to chat with people he meets for the first time. Thank you so much Carrie, we couldn't have wished for a better speech therapist!
