The Munch Bunch group is for children, who are picky eaters, or who have challenges eating certain food or textures. The groups focus on increasing a child’s comfort level by exploring and learning about the different properties of food.
The camps aim to build the foundation of trust in a feeding relationship, and support children, who have mealtime challenges, in moving forward with mealtime goals of sensory enjoyment, motor skills, confidence and internal motivation. The program allows a child to interact with food in a playful, non-stressful way, beginning with the ability to tolerate the food in the room and in front of him/her, then moving on to touching and eventually tasting and eating foods.
The Munch Bunch group uses the SOS (Sequential Oral Sensory) approach developed by Dr. Kay Toomey and The GetPermission Approach to feeding developed by Marsha Dunn Klein.
Parents will be required to bring food for their child for the group.
