SUMMARY:Gifted Group
DESCRIPTION:Being gifted comes with its own set of challenges. Often children feel isolated and misunderstood. Gifted children may have trouble navigating their expectations (perfectionism and procrastination)\, especially if there is an asynchronicity in skills (high IQ but difficulties with EQ). \nThis group focuses on self-esteem\, social skills\, conflict resolution and leadership with like-minded children. \nThe group provides a safe environment for individuals to share their thoughts and tensions about the week and receive support and guidance from their peers and the therapist. \nDetails:\nWhere? SPOT Central\, 14/F\, Unit 1402\, China Building\, 29 Queen’s Road Central\nWhen? Mondays 4.50-5.40pm\nHow much? 1\,100HKD per group session\nAge range from 6-9 years. \nThe group is supervised by Dr. Amanda Oswalt-Visher. \nPlease note:\nA minimum of 6 sessions must be paid in advance. We do not offer refunds\, unused sessions will be held as credit for future use. For illness with less than 24 hours’ notice\, a doctor’s note is required to receive credit. Note that credit applies to planned absences\, but same-day cancellations are not eligible. Groups and pairings may be co-facilitated by graduate interns\, university students\, and/or teen mentors to provide extra 1:1 support. All participants complete an interview process and police records check. If you have questions or concerns\, please let your group leader know.
