SUMMARY:Calm Kids
DESCRIPTION:This music therapy pre-school playgroup put a focus on child empowerment and regulation. It allows children to feel confident to express themselves and learn how to identify new emotions and social skills. \nWe practice sharing\, singing\, instrument playing\, body movement and mindfulness to encourage self-regulation. When we validate a child’s emotions\, we allow a child to express themselves in a safe environment. This can include practicing social\, physical\, emotional and cognitive skills through therapeutic musical methods. \nDoes your child:\n– show signs of anxiety or stress?\n– struggle to relax?\n– have love self esteem or confidence?\n– find making friends challenging?\n– have trouble calming down after big emotions?\n– experience a developmental delay? \nMusic is an effective tool that can inspire and develop both verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Mindful music use also encourages soothing and calming effects on all ages. No previous music experience is required to join music therapy. \nDetails:\nWhen? Fridays at 9-10am at SPOT One Island South\nHow much? 2700HKD for 6 sessions.\nAges 18 months to 3 years. Children will need to be accompanied by one adult.\nSupervised by Claudia Jones\, registered music therapist. \nPlease note:\nPayment for group must be made in full prior to first session. In order to maintain the group numbers consistency\, there will be no refund or make up sessions offered unless a doctor’s certificate is provided. \n
