SUMMARY:Embracing Neurodiversity in the Classroom - Teacher Course
DESCRIPTION:This course is designed to equip learning support staff and teachers with knowledge about SEN children and provide teachers/teaching assistants with lots of practical strategies for the classroom.  \nModules\nThe course consists of pre-recorded modules\, the content is evidence-based and includes examples and practical strategies. Each module is presented in English by a member of the SPOT multi-disciplinary team.  \nThe module topics include: \n\nAutism\nExecutive Functioning\nSelf-Regulation\nSensory Processing\nDyslexia\nDyspraxia (Developmental Coordination Disorder.)\nFine motor and handwriting\nLanguage and Communication Delay\nImportance of Play\nNeuro-affirming Approach\nADHD\nSelective Mutism: Building Brave Communication\n\nTarget Participants\nLearning support staff\, new teachers\, teaching assistants and shadow teachers. Essentially\, all teaching staff working with SEN children in preschool\, primary and early secondary will benefit from this course. \nRegistration form: Once payment has been received\, a registration form will be sent to you. Up to 15 participants can be registered per subscription. Each participant will be sent a link to the course to access it from their school or home computer. Participants will have 10 weeks to complete the course.  \nCertificate\nEach module includes a short online questionnaire. On completion of all 9 questionnaires\, a Certificate of Completion will be sent to the participant. \nPayment\nThe course is HKD $6\,150 per subscription (max. 15 participants). Please note that the online credit card payment will incur an extra 4% handling fee. Please call the clinic if you would like to make a bank transfer. \nWe accept payment by cheque or credit card on registration.

Strategies such a self talk\, thinking ahead\, mindfulness and others can help a child to do just this.  In our group your child may travel back in time in our Time Machine to analyses a past decision or freeze and look into our looking glass to make a future plan based on the task’s physical and emotional demands. \nThey will each create their own concentration station and work towards independently talking a number of fun tasks/challenges using the new skills they are taught in group.
