Crystal is a Malaysian Chinese who lived in a big family with several young cousins and has taken care of them at a young age. This has sparked her interest in working and supporting young children and families, thereby attaining her Occupational Therapy degree at University of Bradford, United Kingdom in 2019.
Crystal began her career working in Macau and decided to move to Hong Kong a year later to pursue her passion in pediatrics. Crystal has worked with a plethora of pediatric populations aging from 6 to 18, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficits/Hyperactive Disorder (AD/HD), Developmental Delay, Down Syndrome and Dyslexia.
Crystal is driven to embrace different challenges and turn them into learning and growth opportunities. Her heart of curiosity and open mindset pushes her to continue to broaden her skills and knowledge. She has recently completed the Size Matters Handwriting Programme (SMHP) and is now undertaking Ayres Sensory Integration® course.
Growing up in a multicultural country, Crystal is also fluent in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Malay (Quadrilingual!). This facilitates families, caregivers and children who speak those languages to communicate with her in a comfortable manner. In turn, working collaboratively on specific goals. Crystal’s professionalism, compassion and communication skills have also received positive feedback from previous clients, parents, teachers and colleagues.
Outside of work, Crystal spends quality time cooking, baking, weight-training, reading books and listening to podcasts. She also actively engages in different outdoor activities with her partner, such as hiking, jogging, wakesurfing and exploring Hong Kong street food.
