The main areas assessed are:
1. Verbal and nonverbal skills
2. Social interaction
3. Pragmatics
4. Social cognition
The Social Communication includes an in-school observation of the child.
After the assessment, a full report with tailored recommendations for the family and school will be provided. This includes a family and school debrief. This will provide your child’s support system with tailored recommendations and guidance on how to move forward.
A diagnosis may be included (if applicable). There will also be a family and school debrief so allow the child’s support system to be on the same page about how to move forward with the recommendations provided.
With parents’ consent, we are happy to send the report directly to the school after the family debrief. Parents are encouraged to engage closely with the school as providing access to support for the child in all areas of their life (i.e., home and school) will be in the child’s best interest.
