Builders Blue Print – Summer Camp
Builders Blue Print - Summer CampThis summer, get ready to think, plan, and build together in Builder’s Blueprint — a small-group programme led by Occupational Therapists Beanie and Crystal. Designed for children who would benefit from support in executive functioning skills, this hands-on group focuses on collaborative project-based learning. Over the course of the week, children will work in a team to complete three exciting multi-step building projects using different materials. Each project is carefully structured to guide participants through the full process of thinking, organizing, drafting, planning, and executing as a group — all while having fun and building confidence.
Areas of Focus:
– Executive functioning skills: project planning, organizing materials and steps, drafting ideas, and group execution
– Collaborative problem-solving and flexible thinking
– Teamwork, communication, and shared decision-making
– Planning and sequencing multi-step tasks
– Sustaining attention and adapting plans when challenges arise
Activities include three different large-scale group projects such as:
– Designing and constructing a cardboard spacecraft
– Building a fantasy castle or themed fort with towers, bridges, and working elements
– Engineering a marble run or obstacle course that the whole group can test and improve together
