Benefits of Swinging

Swinging, jumping, spinning and rocking are important to children not only for fun and exercise but also to help their bodies organise and to regulate their sensory systems. Children should visit their community playgrounds regularly to have fun and receive this type of movement.

It is important to note that not all children enjoy the vestibular sensation and close monitoring of children’s response is needed. If your child is reluctant to play on the swings, appears dizzy or unwell following playing on swings, speak to an Occupational Therapist.
